Does my insurance cover the cost of a flight?

This will vary depending on the insurance company, plans and coverage. Each individual insurance company defines how much they will cover for the cost of the flight, as well as co-pays and deductibles. We highly recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to obtain your personal coverage information.

Who determines if I’ll be flown or transported by ground ambulance?

For scene accidents, this decision is generally made by the EMS Agency on-scene. For inter-hospital transports, the sending physician will make that determination.

How fast can you get to a scene or hospital?

Since we operate 24-hours a day, we can respond immediately to scene and hospital requests if we are available. However, the length of time it takes to arrive on scene or at the hospital will depend on how far we are from the location of pick-up.

Can family members fly in the helicopter?
